The NOR and an introduction to the venue and race format is now available via the race calendar, or read it here

Racing is open to all, not just Masters.

The option to race on either the tidal estuary or the marine lake means that racing is guaranteed almost whatever the weather and is not limited by the tide, so don’t miss out on this great venue and some excellent Northern hospitality. Those that travelled last time were rewarded by a very friendly club and a well run event, so don’t let the distance put your off. Midlands and Northern members – we expect to see you there – this is your event!

    West Kirby SC

Next up in the Traveller Series is the West Kirby open and Masters Championship. West Kirby provided a great venue and very warm welcome when the Finn fleet last visited 2 years ago, and this time are guaranteeing loads of great racing by using both the estuary and marine lake race courses, ensuring plenty of racing whatever the wind conditions.

Enter here now before the cut-off date of 25th August here – entry fee of £50 includes two buffets lunches and Saturday evening meal.Entries after the 25th will be charged £60.

Accommodation, there are B&Bs in West Kirby or the Holiday Inn Express or the Greenlodge pub opposite in nearby Hoylake (Bike distance all flat roads about 1.5 mile from WKSC). Download the full list of recommended accommodation here. Campers can be parked at the club by prior arrangement.

SI’s will be posted on the WKSC website and on the event calendar after Wednesday 17th

The weather forecast looks ideal for the Finn Masters. The wind predictions are 9 to 20 knots on Saturday from a Southerly direction, giving ideal tidal and lake race conditions. Predictions for Sunday are for 18 to 25 knots, perfect for the Dee Estuary. There are 15 pre entry so far for the event. The NoRs and a list of available accommodation in and around West Kirby, can be found on the West Kirby Sailing Club website.
