Sixty-nine sailors participated in one or more events in the 2025 North Sails Silver Finn Traveller Trophy. The trophy is a sterling silver model of a Finn dinghy presented to the class in 1963. It holds the names of many famous British Finn Association sailors. North Sails sponsored the trophy and provided substantial prizes for the top sailors in the series, plus one drawn at random from the remainder of the fleet.
The 2025 Silver Finn Travellers Trophy spanned seven Finn events, including the National Championships in Weymouth. Nick Craig won several events, winning the Masters, the Inlands and the Open meeting at Christchurch Sailing Club, but his lack of attendance at other events in the Travellers Series left him outside the running. For the first time in many years, John Greenwood showed tenacity, resolution and true diligence to score a top-five place in all of six regattas he participated in, to take the overall trophy and the Great Grand Master title. Taking second place overall was John Mackie, who also retained his 2024 title as the top Grand Master, as he pipped Tom Gissane into third overall as the first Master. The Legend’s trophy was closely fought between Richard Phillips and David Kitchen, with Richard running out as the winner to win the trophy for the first time. The under-29 trophy was won by Alex Farrell with a consistent record of top 6 results in the events he sailed in.
Sadly, the final event of the year, traditionally held at Warsash Sailing Club, was cancelled as the first named storm of 2025, Storm Amy, passed over the UK, bringing very strong winds and torrential rains. This prevented the traditional TT Series trophy awards and prize-giving ceremony from taking place, but the BFA Committee will ensure that each category winner receives their trophy in due course.

For the 2026 season, the North Sails Super Series of 9 events are listed in the British Finn Calendar and downloadable on a year planner.
There were be discounted sails for overall prize winners and also for a lucky winner who attends all events (to be drawn at the end of the series). The winner will also receive the prestigious Silver Finn Trophy that dates from 1963 and is engraved with all the top names of British Finn sailing since that date.
There will also be a new UK ranking in place, based on this series, which will be updated after each event.
