Hello Everyone
I would be great to see a fleet of Finns head to Solway at the end of July for the Scottish and Northern championship. The winner will have the honour of lifting two very nice trophies, the Northern last won at West Kirkby by Cameron, and a new Trophy created by for the Scottish event, both very nice to have on your mantlepiece!
For those who have not sailed at Solway it is a very picturesque place to sail, and can be both sunny and idillic, and also pretty challenging if a strong southerly can be blowing from the South West, it also has a local micro climate (honest) and can feel more like the continent ashore on a sunny day.
This is the start of a six day regatta, 5 day Kippford week then a one day RNLI race, and sailors are very welcome to stay on and make a Finn fleet, or join in the fast handicap fleet and make a holiday of it. The area is fantastic for walking and cycling as well or just getting away from it.
Entries are open now and it would be great to see you.
Regards
Stewart
