Classic with Carbon. 1973 Taylor Finn. K473 (or should that be GBR473?)

Double bottom, built-in wing buoyancy tanks, she was brought back from the ‘dead’ a couple of seasons ago and has been doing sterling service as a club racer. Fitted with a carbon mast gate, she has been sailed as a full classic with an aluminium mast as well as with a carbon wing mast; the gate is set up with the range for both.

While she may not be the prettiest, she is basically sound and has been well set up with new Harken throughout. Again maybe not the fastest anymore, but in the right hands she is a very capable club racer and would make an excellent starter boat, especially with the full package on offer:

    Full Harken Fit out
    Continuous Control Lines
    Carbon Hiking Extenders (Devoti)
    Boom (with cover)
    Fixed Rudder (Devoti)
Lifting Rudder (could do with some tlc)
    Top cover
    Launching Trolley
    Roadbase Trailer to fit

HIT wing mast. It has been professionally repaired, but is overall in very good condition. I don’t have the numbers, but it would suit someone 90-100kg. Mast bag.
2 North sails cut to this mast. They have seen better days, but will get you started.

Go Classic! – Needlespar Black Tip, OK condition. Dacron sail in great condition.

    £2500 ono

Lying Keyhaven, near Lymington. Loads of photos available on request. Call or email Nick Wheeler – wheeler.family@mac.com 07905601503.

Update/Correction: Having finally laid my hands on this boat’s paperwork, the correct year of build is 1976 and her sail number should read K424. Additional she was last properly measured in 1991.
