I have heard back from the French association that their joint championship with the Spanish Nationals at Canet en Roussillon does unfortunately start on the Sunday 7th July 2019 and so will clash with our own Nationals at Brixham. They have moved the date from their usual timing of the weekend of the 14th July as that was the only time the yacht club could accommodate the event and have apologised for the clash and plan to revert to their usual date next year and host it at Quiberon, when the Jean Jacques Godet Trophy will be competed for once again.
It is a shame as many UK sailors hoped to travel to the French Championships, but popular venues get booked up quickly and both associations were only offered few suitable dates.
