Britain has a rich heritage of success in the Finn at Olympic and World Championship levels, but the majority of the UK fleet is made up of Club and Masters sailors who enjoy racing Finns at all levels. There are great opportunities to race internationally at the Finn World Masters and the European Championships as well as the prestigious Gold Cup. All these events, together with the two main national events now count towards the Finn World Ranking, which has proved extremely popular with 1331 sailors from 40 countries competing.
The BFA 2024 Traveller Series has now concluded, congratulations to John Mackie, who attended nearly all 7 events. John took the trophy for the first time; he also won the Grand Master trophy. John sailed in 6 of the seven events, only missing out on the Bosham Open. Howard Sellars took the Legend title; Martin Hughes was second overall, winning the Great Grand Master category, who, along with Roman Khodykin (Master) took their respective titles for the second consecutive year. All these trophy winners receive a grant of £100.00 as a contribution toward their entry to a Finn World or European Championships in 2025.
